A relative of mine in grade school has a class project based on a book called Flat Stanley. It's about how awesome it would be if you could mail yourself to visit people and go on trips. For the project, each kid in her class colored a flat, paper version of themselves to mail around like Flat Stanley in the book; hers is called Flat Georgia.
Persons she visits are supposed to take pictures with her and write a story about what they and Flat Georgia did together, then mail it back to real-life Georgia at her school. The pictures and stuff will be posted around the class for the end of the year; which is apparently soon, so entries are due ASAP (April 2008).
Flat Georgia
Here is an example my awesome Malay friend did:
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
It was a hectic day so when a couple of my colleagues suggested a tea break I took it. Georgia wanted to try some of the local drinks; she had iced Milo which is a chocolate drink. I had "Teh Tarik" which literally means pulled tea! It's literally pulled in the air from one cup to another. The bread, meanwhile, is called roti boom. It's mixed with ghee oil and butter, making it very fragrant and delicious!
On my way back from the coffee shop I had to stop for a dishwasher detergent at the grocer's next door. I can't seem to make up my mind when Georgia pointed out to me the largest and most colorful dishwasher of them all!
As soon as I got into the office, I got a call to help fix a computer. Georgia had fun watching the local tv shows while I was fixing the computer. She even helped me test the printer while my colleague Mr. Sofri ran the recording machine!
And this is us clowning around in the Flint suite, where we insert special effects and motion graphics into tv commercials! Georgia wants in on the fun!
[The end.]
